Tablecloth size = table size + 2 × drop. Use a 20 cm drop for casual tables, about 30 cm for restaurants and the full table height for banquets. A 60 inch round banquet table takes a 120 inch round cloth; a 6 ft table takes 90×132 inches.

How the drop works

Three tables seen from the side with cloths of different drops: a casual table with a 20 cm drop, a restaurant table with a 30 cm drop and a banquet table with the cloth reaching the floorTap to enlarge

Tablecloth sizing questions

How do I calculate tablecloth size?

Add twice the drop to each table dimension. A 152 cm (60 in) round table with a 75 cm floor-length drop needs a cloth about 302 cm across, so you order the standard 120 inch round.

What size tablecloth for a 60 inch round table?

A 120 inch round reaches the floor on a standard 30 inch high table. A 90 inch round gives a drop of about 15 inches, which suits restaurant service.

What size tablecloth for a 6 foot rectangular table?

90×132 inches reaches the floor on all sides of a 30×72 inch table. 60×102 inches gives a 15 inch drop for seated dining.

How long should a tablecloth drop be?

About 15–25 cm (6–10 in) for casual dining, 25–38 cm (10–15 in) for restaurants and fine dining, and to the floor (about 76 cm or 30 in) for banquets.

Fabrics, napkin sizes and par levels are in the hotel table linen guide and the banquet linen guide.
