Eco lodges have specific linen needs that differ from conventional hotels: GOTS certified organic cotton — globally recognised standard for organic textiles. Grown without synthetic pesticides or GMOs. Full supply chain traceability. Natural undyed (ecru) — raw cotton colour with no chemical dyes whatsoever. Lowest environmental impact. Popular for minimalist and nature-immersive eco lodges. Plant-based dyed — dyed with natural plant extracts (indigo, pomegranate rind, turmeric, myrobalan). Earthy, natural colour palette. Lower chemical impact than synthetic dyes. Recycled cotton — GRS certified recycled pre-consumer cotton. Reduces virgin fibre demand. Available in natural undyed. Bamboo-cotton blend — fast-growing bamboo fibre blended with organic cotton. Soft, temperature-regulating, suitable for humid jungle environments. We recommend natural undyed or plant-based dyed GOTS cotton for authentic eco lodge credentials.

Natural dyes and plant-based dyes are essentially the same category — they refer to dyes derived from plant, animal, or mineral sources rather than synthetic petrochemical processes. Common plant-based dyes we use: Indigo (from Indigofera tinctoria) — deep blue. Traditional Indian natural dye. Pomegranate rind (Punica granatum) — warm golden yellow. Turmeric (Curcuma longa) — bright yellow. Myrobalan (Terminalia chebula) — warm beige/brown tannin mordant. Onion skin (Allium cepa) — golden orange. Teak leaf (Tectona grandis) — soft tan/brown. Plant-based dyes do not achieve the same colour intensity or wash fastness as synthetic reactive dyes — they are expected to gently age and evolve in colour, which is part of the authentic natural aesthetic. We advise eco lodges to communicate this natural colour evolution to guests as a feature of sustainable linen.

Eco lodge linen can carry the following certifications: GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) — certifies organic fibre, chemical processing, and social criteria. Most recognised international standard. Required for genuine "organic cotton" claims. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 — certifies the finished product free from harmful substances. Does not certify organic fibre origin. Complements GOTS. bluesign — responsible chemistry and resource efficiency. Shows dyehouse environmental responsibility. Global Recycle Standard (GRS) — for recycled content claims on linen. Fair Trade — ethical trade premiums to cotton farmers. Available on select collections. We recommend GOTS as the primary certification for eco lodges making sustainability claims to guests, combined with OEKO-TEX for comprehensive product safety assurance.

Our eco lodge colour palette is inspired by natural environments: Undyed (ecru/natural) — raw cotton colour, no dyes used. Ivory — light bleach only, no synthetic brighteners. Stone/pebble — soft grey-beige, mineral-dyed. Sand/desert — warm tan, pomegranate or myrobalan. Sage/eucalyptus — soft muted green, plant extract dyed. Indigo — deep natural blue from Indian indigo plant. Terracotta — rust-orange tone, traditional mineral dye. Clay — warm mid-brown. Forest/olive — deep muted green, weld and indigo combination. All plant-based dyed colours are developed to complement natural timber, rattan, stone, and earth element interior design — ideal for treehouses, jungle lodges, glamping tents, and coastal eco resorts. We understand that eco lodges are often small properties. Our minimum order for eco lodge packages: 20 rooms — minimum room-based order for a complete linen package (sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mat). Approximately 120–160 individual pieces for a 20-room lodge. 100 pieces — minimum for individual item orders (e.g., 100 sheets only). GOTS certified linen carries a 15–25% premium over conventional. Plant-based dyed linen carries a 20–30% premium for natural dye processing.
