What is a pestemal and why do GCC hammams use it?
A pestemal (also fouta) is a flat-woven, lightweight cotton towel traditional to hammams and Turkish baths. GCC spas and hammams favour it because it is highly absorbent yet dries quickly, folds flat for storage, and can be woven in custom stripes and colours for brand identity or retail sale. We weave pestemal to your colour and stripe specification.
Should a GCC spa use waffle or terry robes?
Most GCC spas use lightweight 300–380 GSM waffle robes in treatment rooms because they dry fast and launder efficiently for rapid guest rotation. Terry robes (450–550 GSM) are reserved for relaxation lounges or hotel suites where guests wear them longer.
Do you supply treatment-bed linen as well as towels?
Yes. We supply fitted and flat treatment-bed sheets, face-cradle covers, and towelling in shades matched to your spa towels and robes, so the whole treatment room is coordinated.
Does spa linen qualify for 0% UAE duty?
Yes. Indian-origin spa and hammam linen qualifies for 0% UAE import duty under the India–UAE CEPA (2022). We provide the Certificate of Origin (Form AI) to claim the preference at Jebel Ali. For other GCC countries the standard 5% tariff applies.
