Hotel textiles imported into Saudi Arabia require: (1) SASO Certificate of Conformity issued by a SABER-registered certification body; (2) Certificate of Origin (Form A or bilateral CoO); (3) Commercial invoice with HS code, GSM, fibre composition, and country of manufacture; (4) Bill of Lading or airway bill; (5) Packing list. Saudi Arabia applies a 5% ad valorem customs duty on most textile imports (HS 6302), plus VAT at 15%. Indian-origin textiles do not currently benefit from a preferential trade agreement with Saudi Arabia, so MFN rates apply. However, GCC common external tariff rates are relatively low, making India-origin linen competitive on duty terms compared to EU-origin products.
